About Breguet
Founded in 1775 by Abraham-Louis Breguet, the Maison is often hailed as the "Leonardo da Vinci of Watchmaking." From its early days in Paris, Breguet revolutionized horology with a series of inventions that still define the industry today, most notably the Tourbillon (1801), the Perpetual Calendar, and the first-ever wristwatch created for the Queen of Naples in 1810.
Breguet's aesthetic is as influential as its mechanics, defined by a distinct visual language that includes hand-guilloché dials, fluted casebands, and the iconic hollow-tipped hands. Central to this identity are the Breguet numerals, an elegant and stylized typography designed by the founder himself that remains a global standard for classical watchmaking. Now part of the Swatch Group and based in the Vallée de Joux, the manufacture continues to balance its royal heritage, having served figures like Marie-Antoinette and Napoleon, with modern innovation. From the classically elegant Classique to the technical Tradition and the maritime-inspired Marine, every Breguet remains a testament to the founder’s relentless pursuit of precision and artistic perfection.
