Sean Gannon's painting "The American" (2021) blends acrylic on canvas and a sculptural walnut wood frame to create a visually appealing introspective evaluation of identity and contemporary living. In 2021, Gannon's solo show "I Can't Wait to Quit My Job"was exhibited at Hong Kong's Woaw Gallery highlighting the present work.

About Sean Gannon

Sean Gannon was born in Buffalo, New York 1993. Shortly after he relocated to Chicago, where in 2015 he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Gannon is known for his audacious, minimalist paintings that feature surprising wood and industrial material sculptures. The metropolitan environment of Chicago, where he currently resides and works, serves as inspiration for his artwork.

In addition to using vibrant colors and flat, geometric designs, Gannon also incorporates three-dimensional elements that jut out of the canvas into his paintings. This creative method produces visually appealing artworks by fusing traditional painting techniques. Despite being a new artist, Gannon has already received attention for his particular technique for minimalist painting. His work has been applauded for its vivid use of color and imaginative use of industrial materials, both of which challenge conventional concepts of painting.

Gannon's participation in prominent art exhibitions such as EXPO Chicago, as well as being exhibited by galleries in the United States and Europe, indicate that he is prepared to have a significant influence on the contemporary art landscape, particularly in the abstract and minimalist genres.
