About Blancpain
Founded in 1735, Blancpain is one of the world's oldest watch manufacturers. The brand is celebrated for its unwavering commitment to traditional mechanical artistry and its mastery of high-complication watchmaking. A key historical milestone was the 1953 creation of the Fifty Fathoms, one of the first modern diving watches.
The brand was successfully revived in 1981 by Jean-Claude Biver and Jacques Piguet during the quartz crisis, and was subsequently acquired by the Swatch Group just eleven years later.
Now operating from Le Brassus, Switzerland, as a member of the Swatch Group, Blancpain functions as a true manufacture—designing and producing its own movements in-house. Its collections, which span robust tool watches, elegant dress pieces, and highly complicated models, are universally defined by these proprietary movements and exceptional hand-finishing, cementing its position as a guardian of haute horlogerie.
